BOATING & FISHING

Lake Okeechobee is the largest freshwater lake in the southeastern United States, and its wetlands are the center of a much larger watershed, the Greater Everglades. Birds, alligators, wide-mouth bass… it’s the perfect environment for boating, kayaking, canoeing, bass fishing, airboat rides, and water and jet skiing.

Torry Island Campground

Torry Island Campground is home away from home for many visitors who want to try their luck catching one of the "Big O's" famous wide-mouth bass. With boat ramps and 350 campsites, Torry Island also has a picnic area, on-site putting green, biking trails, fishing, laundry area, WiFi, and activities. Activities include monthly socials with potluck dinners, game and movie nights, and exercise classes.
